Product Review: Drag-On Baits

Hand poured worms are something that always interests me. They get poured in garages everywhere and some even market them. Everyone does it a little differently and some do it a little better than others. I recently ran into a guy that does it a little better.

At the Az. B.A.S.S. Federations Top Ten Tournament, I ran into Douglas Oliver of Drag-On Baits. He gave me some of his four-inch worms to try out on the water. I ended up doing better that day than I did the day before, with the only difference being the bait. Anytime you do well with a particular bait, you tend to go back. So I jumped on his website after getting home and soon sent him an e-mail asking him about his product and letting him know I would like to see some more. He has some unique shapes, including the "Ollie Worm", "Bushwacker", and "Sting Ray", that really caught my eye. And I really like some of the color schemes, such as the 065. You need to look at these for yourselves. These unique shapes, he feels, give the fish something they haven’t seen before making them more curious. He personally pours and tests each of his new shapes or colors before they go on his website, making sure he can catch fish with them. People not only are catching fish with his baits, tournaments have been won with them. Douglas is very dedicated to putting out a quality product. He feels one of the secrets to his worms success is that he pours salt in the worms so they don’t wash off in the water. He then adds the scent of your choice: ainse, garlic, or crayfish. You can purchase these baits without an added scent if you choose. If you are looking for some good hand-poured worms, I suggest you check these out. All I have done with them is catch fish. For more information, visit his Drag-On’s website at www.dragonbaits.com, or call Douglas at (520) 295-3507 and tell'm who sent ya.
