Wet Tents!

Well your there in just the right camping spot and everything goes just fine until it starts to rain in the middle of the night. I think you can imagine or have experienced the rest of this story. Take care of your ten and it will take care of you. Here are a few little tips to help your tent do the job it was intended to do.

· Be sure that seams on the floor and rain-fly are sealed. This is what makes the tent waterproof. If the seams were already taped at the factory, apply some sealer anyway and don't forget the corners.

· Always use a ground sheet with your tent. This protects the floor from wear and helps prevent sharp rocks from cutting it. It also prevents your floor from getting damp.

· Always store your tent in a dry relatively cool place and never leave it in a utility shed or the garage. Our Arizona heat will cause your tents seams to separate bring new meaning to the words leaky tent.

· Ever go camping in a tent that was stored wet. Smells about like you boots. If you spend a wet weekend camping set your tent up as soon as you get home to dry out. Once mildew starts working on your tent its just a matter of time before you have to get a new one even if you can stand the smell.
