Pinnacle Peak Park Opens

Residents of the luxury Estancia development will soon have their Sonoran Desert view spoiled by hikers. In 1994, the 150 acres surrounding Pinnacle Peak was fenced off for development with the stipulation that  it be reopened for a public park. After the homes were built the new owners decided that they didn’t want the park. They have had their way for the last six years.

Beginning Saturday, April 20th Scottsdale’s largest city park will reopen for hikers, rock climbers, equestrians or anyone else who wants to enjoy the desert. There is a moderate 1.75 mile trail and three rock climbing areas. The park is located at Dynamite and Alma School roads.
