Product Review: Predator Camouflage This past year, I made the change to predator camouflage. To be exact, I used the “Deception” pattern while hunting Elk in Arizona and Deer in South Dakota. I based the change on the idea of using camouflage that was a bit less congested and camouflage that seemed to match the surroundings we experience “Out West.”
The more “open” pattern offered by Predator seems to do a better job of breaking-up the human outline from greater distances. And, while hunting in the west, the animals are more likely to be able to spot hunters from a greater distance which makes this point all the more crucial.
The six-pocket pants by Predator provide needed space for essential equipment and are outfitted with “synch-strings” in the legs for a tight fit around the boots. This is truly a nice feature and prevents “stickers” in the ankles and lower leg. In addition, the pants are quite comfortable and very quiet.
The Bowhunter Jacket served as the top piece in my hunting attire and comes with four outer pockets and one inner pocket. The outer pockets consist of one deep pocket on each side with more than enough space for equipment along with a smaller button down pocket for securing calls and other essentials. In addition, the jacket features elastic gathered sleeves which keep the hands free from unwanted distraction. Again, the jacket is quite comfortable and very quiet.
The “Deception” pattern proved to work quite well. I was able to get into close range on a number of animals while using this pattern and used the pattern effectively from tree-stands as well.
