PRODUCT REVIEW: DOUBLE-BULL BLINDS Todd Hulm Wow! I couldn’t be more impressed! During the 2002 archery season I used the Double-Bull blind (Predator “Deception”) for both Elk and Deer with outstanding results. Numerous Elk came to within fifteen yards of the blind while the number of deer within twenty yards was incredible. In fact, at one time, a whitetail doe was within three feet of the blind without ever being aware of our presence. And, for those who think “Big Bucks and Big Bulls won’t come close…..think again!
The Double-Bull, as advertised, can be set up in mere seconds. Although I am not yet able to have the blind set up and ready to hunt in four seconds as illustrated by the makers of the blind, it can easily be ready to go in under thirty seconds with only a limited amount of practice. And, due to design of the blind it is impossible to make an error. The structure of the blind places itself with only limited effort on behalf of the hunter.
Another impressive feature of this blind is the ease with which a hunter can transport the blind to and from the hunt. A shoulder strap serves to secure the blind in its case and makes carrying the blind an ease. The blind is very light and can be carried even up hills quite simply.
The shooting windows coupled with the “shoot-through” mesh are outstanding. Each side of the blind contains two such windows and provides ample opportunity for quality shot-taking. In addition, the roominess of the blind makes drawing a bow while going undetected an easy maneuver for anyone.
Finally, the blind is also extremely resistant to wind. During a South Dakota bow hunt, the blind was left set up for over a week after being secured with plastic tent stakes. During this week, gusts of over 55-miles an hour were recorded in the area, and the wind never impacted the blind.
If you are considering a ground blind for future hunts, I would strongly suggest giving the Double-Bull Blind a try.
